Downtown Canton

When and where is The Canton Repository Grand Parade? The parade steps off at 8:00 a.m. in downtown Canton, Ohio -- on Cleveland Avenue approximately 5th Street SW.  Units travel north on Cleveland Avenue to 25th St. NW where the parade begins to disband.

Are reserved seats available? Yes.

Where do I park? There is no designated parking for the parade but you will be able to find a place to park on the surrounding side streets or in some parking lots.

What if I don’t want to purchase reserved seats? Reserved seating is the best way to go to guarantee a great view of the units. If you wish to bring your own seats for viewing, plan to go early, stake out a good spot and remember to pick up donuts!

How long is the parade route? The parade route is 2.2 miles long. As a spectator, expect almost two hours of fanfare from the first unit to the last!

What kind of units will I see in the parade? The Canton Repository Grand Parade has something for everyone!

  • The current Class of Enshrinees
  • Returning Hall of Famers/Gold Jackets
  • Giant Helium Balloons
  • Floats
  • Animal Units
  • Bands
  • … plus many more unique and fun specialty units!

I have a relative in a band – will I see them on T.V.? Unfortunately we cannot guarantee television coverage for all units. We could not put on this event without our sponsors who receive priority for television coverage.

I can’t find my seats! What should I do? Look for someone in orange! Our parade marshals will be wearing orange shirts and will be able to direct you to your seats on parade morning.

Can participants in the parade throw candy or other items to the spectators, or approach spectators to distribute goodies or information?  Sorry, this is strictly prohibited for safety and liability reasons.
